Get Inspired Into Healing

“Clothes” Revealing Meditation with God | Guided Christian Meditation | 7 Mar 2023

This is the supporting blog to the YouTube video called “Revealing Meditation with God (Clothes) | Guided Christian Meditation for Healing” recorded on 7 March 2023, and available at https://youtu.be/xPtcKSm70Xc. Although this blog has the notes from which I made the video, the video has a lot more detail than this blog about each section, so I invite you to watch it when you get a chance!

YouTube video “Revealing Meditation with God (Clothes)”

Agenda

For the first few minutes of this video, I share a little bit about my background, give guidelines for this meditation, share one of many Biblical bases for meditation and for pursuing healing/wholeness as a spiritual practice, and explain how to meditate. Then, I lead you through a grounding technique to reduce the noise in your nervous system, invite the Holy Spirit, and then facilitate your meditation for the last 30 minutes. If you want, you can skip to the Prayer, Grounding Technique, or Meditation at the timestamps shown in the video.

About Your Facilitator

I am a speaker, author, and influencer seeking to inspire others into healing by sharing my personal story of overcoming complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD).

I got C-PTSD because I was born into a dysfunctional family and later became a combat Veteran who, at the height of my PTSD experience, acquired a 70% service-connected disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs. That’s when I dove into my healing journey head-first and participated in over 40 PTSD therapies (both secular and spiritual) to become the thriving daughter of God, wife & mother,  Army Reserve Officer and entrepreneur I am today.

One of the most beneficial therapies I experienced was Guided Christian Meditation, which is why I’m so passionate about offering this service to you online.

Today’s meditation will focus on helping people pursuing healing (whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual) get understanding on the source of their troubles and guidance on their healing decisions by connecting with God, themselves, and the healers around them in a more holistic and flexible way. The goal is to get you clarity on your situation and confidence in taking your next steps so that your pursuit of wholeness will be more successful.

Guidelines

God is in charge of this meditation, I am only a facilitator – if you experience the desire to divert your meditation to another topic or tempo, please do so! In fact, that’s the ideal scenario. You can come back to the video whenever you want to.

I give all instructions up front so that you can stay in a meditative state as long as you want at the end of this video; feel free to turn off the video early, or consider turning off auto-play of the next video, in order to guard the connection between you, yourself, and God.

As you walk through the meditation, allow any emotions that come up to flow through your body like a wave through the ocean. Releasing pent-up emotions to God (through crying, wailing, yelling, and shaking) is one of the primary goals of meeting with God; otherwise, I promise it’ll come out in some way in your life that may be less ideal–like through chronic illness in your body, soul, or spirit.

Below, you will see a link to the supporting to my blog about 32 grounding techniques, a link to my blog about how to stay healed, and a link to my video called “Make the Most of Your Mediation”, which gives you instructions for how to process your meditation.

Biblical Bases

Meditation Concepts

There are many scriptures that describe how meditation transforms us into God’s perfect design for us. Today, I will share one concept about how to pray meditatively from Matthew 6:6

Interlinear of Matthew 6:6 on BibleHub.com

The root of the 4th word “proseuche” literally means exchange-wishes; so prayer is you telling God your wishes and God telling you his wishes

The root of the 8th word “tameion” in this scripture comes from a word that means a dispensary/storeroom (often in the basement of a mansion) that is hidden from the world. 3 of 4 times it is in the Bible, it is translated as “secret chamber” or “inner room”, it is used in a metaphorical way–and that matches with the rest of the scripture here.

The most inner room, or secret place, where we can meet with God is in our minds and hearts–in meditative prayer. No one else can see or hear what we are praying nor know what God is saying back to us. It is us and God, alone, face to face.

The root of the 2nd to last word in the scripture “apodosei” literally means from-give, as in God will give from himself to you in secret.

So, one way to understand this scripture is “You, however, when you exchange-wishes by entering into the inner rooms of your being and–after closing your senses to the physical world–exchange-wishes with your Father in there, and your Father, who receives your wishes in there, will give from himself to you in there.”

Healing Concepts

Interlinear of 1 Timothy 2:3-4 on BibleHub.com

The root of the 7th word “soteros” is “sozo“, which means “save, heal, deliver, preserve, rescue”. When God works, we not only can get saved (by inviting the Holy Spirit to enter us and give us access to the power of Yeshua’s work on the cross), but we can also be delivered from spiritual oppression (demons affect believers and non-believers, alike), or healed from sickness in our body or soul. That’s GREAT news! Sozo is God’s answer to “hamartia“–the Greek word for “sin”–which literally means “not-a-part-of”, as in “sin is not a part of man” in God’s perfect design.

The root of the 2nd to last word “aletheias” is “alethes“, which is translated “unconcealed, truthful, worthy of credit”. In one of my meditative prayer sessions, God explained that a human understanding of “truth” is that it is “factual” but God’s use of the word “truth” is that it promotes life–it is a “life-giving perspective”.

Therefore, one way we could translate 1 Tim 2:3-4 is “…our Savior/Deliverer/Healer God desires all people to be saved/delivered/healed and to come to the knowledge of a life-giving perspective.”

How to Meditate

When we invite the Holy Spirit to sanctify our spiritual sight AKA the movie-screen-of-our-minds (our imagination), our spiritual hearing AKA our thoughts, our spiritual promptings AKA our desires, and our spiritual sensations in our body, we can rely on the faith-of-a-mustard-seed that God will help us receive true and reliable communication and understanding from Heaven.

As a response to my prompts, you may see spontaneous images or shorts appear, hear spontaneous thoughts in your mind or emotions in your heart, experience a spontaneous knowing or prompting to do something in your heart or gut, or sense spontaneous sensations in your body (heat, chills, heaviness, lightness, pain, fragrances, and tastes). For now, don’t try to judge them or control them–and especially, DO NOT FEAR THEM! Just pursue the peace in your meditative journey and trust God to make it happen and to eventually give you clarity on what it means. You will use the video “Make the Most of Your Meditation” to learn exactly how to do that.

If you feel like you were in the middle of a scene but you are interrupted and get drawn out of it, you can bring yourself back to that scene by remembering it and asking God to continue the conversation, whenever you want.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, you are welcome here…

Grounding Technique

Wiggle fingers, then head to toe

Meditation

  • Go to the most peaceful place, real or imagined
  • Look at the clothes you are wearing
  • Ask God why you’re wearing those clothes and what it means
  • Ask God to show you on your body, soul, or spirit where God wants to heal you first
  • Listen to me pray 1 Tim 2:3-4 over you “…our Savior/Deliverer/Healer God desires all people to be saved/delivered/healed and to come to the knowledge of a life-giving perspective.”
  • See the hand of God write upon your body, soul, or spirit the words of God upon you
  • See the words of God soak into your being by the work of the Holy Spirit
  • See yourself standing in the palm of God’s hand, as God wiggles fingers, the light of the Holy Spirit within you shines brightly out; repeat until the light takes over you
  • Soak in the knowledge of being in the light of God-with-us until the work is done
