My husband was the hero of Day 2 of our #40daysoffaith adventure from MD to CO on the word of God. He took care of critical camper preparations (like installing double propane tanks and a different brake controller that works with the U-haul). Meanwhile, I… wasted four hours going to a uniform store that was closed, and then a sushi restaurant that was closed. As for my daughter, she has watched more Bluey in the last week than she has in the past month. I’m not super proud of our parenting at the moment… but it’s temporary.
As of this moment, all of our clothes are now packed, our kid’s toys and diapers are sorted, the disposable plates are in use, the laundry machine has been running since daybreak, and the cats are in a frenzy. (They know!) Movers come in two days. We drive away in five.
Our stress level has certainly gone up since yesterday. We have instituted the on-demand hug to help each other mitigate the stress. (I thank God for such a huggable husband!) I am also very grateful that I was able to spend time visiting with two friends while my daughter played with their kids. They sent us away with prayers, blessings, and a full tummy. There is nothing so sweet as helpers in one’s hour of need.
The Prayer
God, we ask for your wisdom on how to best spend our last few days in this house. Thank you for those who have offered to watch our daughter or host us for a meal during this time of transition. Lead us with joy and peace into our next season. Amen.
