This is a God story.
I recently dropped by a former workplace of mine, where I ran into one of my buddies from the unit’s weekly Bible study. He was a former infantryman-turned-govie (a Civilian Federal employee) but that day I noticed he was limping really badly.
When I asked him what was wrong, he mentioned something about “leg day” and then something else about “I also need a knee replacement”. “Let’s pray!” I said.
We walked outside to the benches overlooking the flag pole, where I prayed over his knees three times. At the end of each prayer, he noticed a change in his knees: first a cooling sensation that countered the burning inflammation he had been feeling, then two noticeable decreases of the pain. After ten minutes, he was walking around without any limp at all. Hallelujah!
Usually, I end my God stories right here BUT God has been teaching me that I also need to teach people how to stay healed after they get healed; so I will try.
Learn how to stay healed? Yes! This may sound counter-intuitive, but certain kinds of supernatural healing are fragile and need to be protected until they stick, just like certain kinds of natural healing. (Ever go to a chiropractor or to physical therapy? They may be able to adjust your limbs to reduce pain but then they ask you to do exercises to keep the adjustment in place.) There are numerous logical reasons why and I did write about them. Better yet, pray about it yourself to hear from the Lord directly.

Update
That’s why, a couple of days later, I reached out to my buddy to ask how his knees were doing. I was not surprised to hear that some, but not all, of the pain had returned.
I sent him my blog post on staying healed and asked him to pray about which of those things he should do to get his full healing back. (Yes, this is very possible.) He said he would pray and then do as he hears the Lord direct him. I will update this post with more news when I receive it.
