This is a God story.
I’d like to share a praise: our baby is sleeping through the night in her own room. It has only taken 347 steps to get here. And we only discovered those after we tried 213 steps that didn’t work.
One day, I became DESPERATE for sleep and I cried out to God: “God! Why won’t you help us? Our baby won’t sleep through the night and I’m dying!” And God said, “Have you tried EVERYTHING?” That’s when I knew…God had already sent me the counsel of a friend about weaning night feeds that I hadn’t implemented. I told God I would do as she said. Then God sent me a second friend with a book I would have never read about helping kids sleep. (And when God sent me the same book twice, through two different people, I read it.)
But not all of it applied to us or fit our parenting style—especially since preserving our attachment bond by not crying-it-out during sleep training is vitally important to me. That’s when God spoke to me about how to make other suggestions from the book work for our baby so that she would never cry and never feel abandoned in the process of moving to her own room.
That’s how God is: God’s not offended by the chaff. God just separates the wheat from the chaff and tells us to do the same.
So we have been following God’s leading for over three months…And…It…WORKED!!! Yeyyyy
After a long six months, Brett and I have finally entered our season of breakthroughs. Here’s to many, many more!

Update
One year later, our baby is still the best sleeper! Three-hour naps during the day and 12 hour nights are amazing for tired moms and dads. Thank you, Yeshu!
